Felix Varela Apprenticeship Program

Al Día Foundation’s Felix Varela Apprenticeship Program prepares journalists to explore critical topics that influence society. Our apprenticeship program challenges journalists to think critically on issues within leadership, culture, and politics. With Al Día News, Inc as the trusted partner and guide for dynamic 21st Century Journalism, Felix Varela Apprentices gain practical knowledge and skills needed to be a leader in media and media management.

 Felix Varela Award

The goal of the Felix Varela Apprenticeship Program is to strengthen the diversity of the multistakeholder model by fostering opportunities for individuals from underserved and underrepresented communities to become active leaders in the media community.

Apprentices are exposed to the workings of the Al Día News, Inc, receive training across different areas of knowledge and skill building before, during, and after their launch into their professional career.

The Felix Varela Apprenticeship Program is a three-month grant funded position. This program is proudly supported by our contributors who believe in independent, local news.
